On 25 October 2024, AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre hosted a Networking Conference in Johannesburg, attracting local business leaders, legal professionals, and dispute resolution experts. Speakers from Hong Kong and South Africa focused on “Mediate First” and developments in ADR and the latest developments in the world of arbitration.
Mr Nick Chan, Director of AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre and Mr Herman Tse, Head of Business and Professional Services at InvestHK, along with the AALCO Hong Kong delegation met with the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). The meeting focused on collaboration opportunities regarding dual listing and family office. Hong Kong, as an international financial hub, can serve as a key gateway for South African businesses to enter the Asian market and provides numerous opportunities for South African investors in open capital markets.
AALCO Hong Kong delegation also visited Huawei Innovation Centre in South Africa to gain insights into the operations of Chinese enterprises in South Africa and engage in in-depth discussions regarding the development of artificial intelligence (AI).
